BBQ Raises Funds For Kindale

Sep 14, 2017 | 7:04 AM

Kindale Development Association is still trying to get its locations in Armstrong reopened after flooding this spring.

It’s hoping the 5th Annual Charity BBQ it holds with Lake City Casino will go a long way in doing just that.

The BBQ goes from Noon to 3 pm this Sunday, September 17th, outside the casino with staff from Match Eatery & Public House grilling burgers.

A minimum ten dollar donation also gets five dollars in free slot play for those 19 and older.

Over the last four years, the BBQ has raised 30 thousand dollars.

Mayor Akbal Mund hasn’t missed the event and says he’s “Happy to enjoy delicious lunch, great entertainment and help Kindale continue to do the great work that they do in our community.”

Lake City’s general manager, Ryan Doherty, says the casino is proud staff and customers have come together to help Kindale make a difference in the lives of people with diverse abilities.

Kindale Executive Director, B. Elliot, says the Association is very grateful to Lake City Casino.

Cindy Masters, development officer for Kindale, says “It is going to be an absolutely amazing afternoon and we are so happy that the amazing Shawn Lightfoot will be again providing live entertainment. Joining in the fun and volunteering will be the Vernon Winter Carnival Royalty and new candidates”.
