Coldstream to introduce e-scooters

People will soon be able to travel through Coldstream on e-scooters.

Coldstream Council has agreed to participate in the Provincial Electric Kick Scooter Pilot Project.

The change will come into effect September 1, at which point people aged 16 and older will be able to use the alternative transportation devices within the community.

Previously, and up to the joining date, e-scooters could not be ridden within the municipality.

Coldstream is not proposing any additional restrictions in joining the program, though bylaw amendments may be considered in the future to restrict or prohibit e-scooters on specific roads pending results of allowing their use.
