The first call in a crisis may not be 911
Aug 26, 2026 | 4:00 PM
When someone is in crisis, getting the right help can mean knowing who to call — and it isn’t always the police.
Kelowna RCMP and the Canadian Mental Health Association are encouraging residents to use CRCL for non-emergency mental health crises.
Trained responders can de-escalate situations, provide immediate support and connect people with appropriate services, with calls also accepted from someone seeking help for another person.
CRCL operates seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
