Mar 29, 2026 | 10:26 AM

SURREY — British Columbia’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been deployed to Surrey after a fatal shooting in the city.

The Surrey Police Service says in a news release that officers responded to reports of shots being fired in the 15100 block of 60 Avenue around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday.

It says officers arrived and found a man who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

The release says paramedics also responded and attempted to save the man’s life, but were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

It says IHIT was called in and has now taken over the investigation, but will continue working in partnership with the department.

Anyone with information about the shooting is being asked to report it to IHIT’s information line.
