Vipers entertain large crowd with Friday win, then fall on road to Salmon Arm

The Vernon Vipers had an up and down weekend in the BC Hockey League, picking up a win and loss.

The win came Friday night before 2,594 fans at Kal Tire Place, 4-2 over the Merritt Centennials for Vernon’s fouth straight win.

Granby, Quebec product Isaac Tremblay powered the Snakes with two goals and was named first star. He now has nine goals on the season, matching his total from all of last year.

Owen Kim added a goal and one assist as Vernon built up a 4-0 lead, before the Centennials came back to make it close with a couple of power play goals.

Ethan David made 29 saves to get his 9th win.

Different story on Saturday as the Salmon Arm Silverbacks outshot the Vipers 43-21 in a 4-0 win before a crowd of 1,947 at the Shaw Centre.

Isaac Lambert and Ty Paisley both had 1+1 for the Silverbacks who improved to 10-5-0-0.

The 12-5-0-0 Vipers next play Friday, Nov. 17 in Merritt.

The Penticton Vees lead the Interior Division at 13-1-2-1 for 29 points, five ahead of the second place Vipers.
