Evacuation alert lifted with lower creek levels

The levels of Coldstream Creek have been raging the last few weeks, but are now starting to subside.

That has allowed the District of Coldstream to rescind an evacuation alert for several properties at the south end of Kirkland Drive bordering the creek which flows into Kalamalka Lake in that area.

The properties include 7903, 7906, 7909, 7910, 7912, 7913 and 7914 Kirkland Drive.

“The creek is still running high but has gone down since the alert was put on [last week],” Trevor Seibel, chief administrative office for the district told Vernon Matters.
