The City of Vernon is moving its public hearings to a larger venue for safety reasons.
Mayor Victor Cumming says starting May 25, the hearings which are normally held in council chambers, will be at the Vernon Recreation Centre auditorium to allow for social distancing and to accomodate up to 50 people.
“We’ve asked for clarification from the ministry about whether we could put 50 people in two different rooms at the Rec Cebntre if we get an overflow crowd,” Cumming told Vernon Matters.
The public hearing May 25 will deal with a rezoning application for 9188 Tronson Road.
