More Lake Access in City Plan
An outgoing member of Vernon council says providing public access to Okanagan Lake is invaluable, and should continue to be a priority for the city.
Juliette Cunningham says the city is growing, and residents will continue to need sites to use the lake.
“We have to not bow to the pressures of neighboring landowners to not develop it because they have the advantage of living on the lake, but many people don’t,” Cunningham told Beach Radio News.
City staff are recommending full recreation improvements for 15 sites on the lake, and water access at eight other locations.
