Police investigating murder in Salmon Arm

RCMP have asked for the public’s help investigating a home invasion turned homicide.

Police believe three suspects, two men and a woman, broke into a home in the 100 block of 4th Street SE around 3 a.m. Friday, July 17.

During the home invasion, the suspects got into an altercation with a resident who was shot and later succumbed to his wounds.

The suspects were thought to have fled the scene in a black Chrysler 300 sedan with three matching wheels and one solid steel wheel. At around 6:35 p.m. Friday, the vehicle was found burned in the Glenemma Trailhead parking lot within the Kelly Mountain Recreation Site.

Salmon Arm RCMP’s investigation into the homicide was ongoing as of time of publication, and Mounties are asking anyone with information relating to the case, including dashcam or security system footage, to contact the detachment.

Police also warned the suspects could be dangerous and should not be approached, and urged people to instead call 911.
