Update: Downed Lines Stall Highway Traffic

Drive BC is estimating the Trans Canada Highway between Sicamous and Revelstoke could reopen at 3:30 pm.

12 pm:

Traffic is stalled on the Trans Canada Highway west of Revelstoke.

This impacted motorist called Beach Radio News to say a truck transporting equipment clipped a power line, pulling it down across the highway.

“The wire must have been a little bit low across the highway, and it (truck) caught it, and he (truck driver) pulled it right down. He can’t leave because there is live wires,” says the caller who estimated at least a two hour wait.

Drive BC says the number one highway is closed in both directions 16 km’s west of Revelstoke, with the next update at 2 pm.
