Cultural Centre Referendum Gaining Momentum
Local arts and culture officials feel they are getting their message out to residents about the need for a new cultural centre.
The plan to borrow 25 million dollars for the project will be before Greater Vernon voters in a referendum Oct 20th.
Dauna Kennedy, executive director of the Vernon Art Gallery which would be one of the main tenants in the new building, says they’ve been talking to people, and there’s a lot of support.
“Every time I talk to someone and answer their questions , they just get right on board, because it makes sense for them.”
