Emergency Showcase At Polson Park

You can find out more about the services police and other emergency agencies provide at an event in Vernon today.

RCMP are hosting an Emergency Services Showcase from 9:30 to 11:30 in Polson Park.

“What it originally started as was sort of like a pop-up detachment and an opportunity for people to really just come and have a look to see what we’re all about, what services we provide to the community.”

Cst. Kelly Brett says people can see demonstrations and displays on the RCMP’s Air Services and the Dog Unit.

“Our PDF Dog Team will be there with its handler. And they will be conducting some demonstrations around 10 o’clock in the morning and another one at 11 o’clock in the morning.”

The RCMP Emergency Response Team will also be involved.

“I know that our tactical unit, which is like an armoured vehicle will be there as well. Whether or not they decide to put on a little bit of a demonstration will be up to them. Obviously, it’s equipment will be showcased.”

Partner agencies like BC Ambulance, Fire Rescue, and Vernon Search and Rescue will also be on hand.
