Coldstream Asked To Alleviate Truck Traffic On Park Lane
Coldstream Mayor Jim Garlick is hoping council can help people living along Park Lane in Lavington who feel overrun with heavy truck traffic.
Council received a petition this week with the names of several people asking that something finally be done.
“There’s actually a sign that points it out as a preferred truck route and that’s back from when the Duteau Creek Treatment Plant was put in. So we’re saying first of all take that down. We don’t see that as a preferred truck route.”
Garlick says, among other measures, the District will talk with Greater Vernon Water about re-routing some vehicles and talk with trucking companies about using other roads.
