More Task Force Ideas Moving Ahead

Vernon council has given the green light to weekly clean-ups of the City Centre neighborhood, including Polson Park.

That was one of the more than 40 recommendations made by the Activate Safety Task Force to council back in July.

But councillor Scott Anderson is disappointed council has watered down — or not proceeded with — some of the suggestions made by that group.

“We had a meeting here and it was, I think, the most crowded meeting we’ve had in the four years I’ve been in term. The business community crying out. And it goes far beyond just the business community. You just need to visit Facebook to see the outcry,” says Anderson who was a member of the task force.
