Hells Angels Ride Stopped By Police
The 11th annual Hells Angels Poker Ride from Kelowna to Vernon on Saturday led to a number of riders being issued violation tickets by the police.
Mounties say the lead bike was pulled over and ticketed for refusing to advance at an unobstructed green light.
The driver was apparently waiting for the entire 90 member group to line-up at the light, but in the process, police say it was holding up five blocks of traffic on Glenmore Road.
“Officers pulled the lead bike over and the driver was subsequently issued a ticket for Failing to Obey a Traffic Control Device. This stop of the lead bike resulted in the entire ride coming to a halt as the participants did not know the marked route to Vernon BC and were waiting for the lead,” says Cst. Lesley Smith, Kelowna RCMP.
