Stealing Cigarettes Nets Thief 20 years.

Stealing Cigarettes Nets Thief 20 years….seriously.

“So buddy…you’re new here in the 20 year cell block…what are you in for…”
“stealing cigarettes….”
“harsh dude… say,…gotta smoke?”

A Florida man who stole $600 worth of cigarettes from a convenience store has 20 years in state prison to think about the hazards of smoking and stealing.

A jury in Pensacola convicted 48-year-old Robert Spellman of burglary and grand theft in August.

Spellman helped himself to 10 cartons of cigarettes from a stock room in a store manager’s office last December.

He got the word Friday that stunt, because of his previous record, will get him 20 in the slammer.

The Pensacola News Journal reports that Spellman had 14 felony and 31 misdemeanor convictions prior to the cigarette theft, which qualified him as a habitual felony offender.

Probably won’t kick his smoking habit…but definitely will kick his stealing habit…for 20 years.
