RDNO Directors To Get Remuneration Boost

RDNO Directors To Get Remuneration Boost

Sep 21, 2018 | 7:23 AM

The new RDNO directors elected next month will get a raise in January.

The District’s Board of Directors has approved an increase to cover the 30 per cent non-taxable expense the federal government will be taking away from civic politicians.

RDNO Board Chair Bob Fleming says it should all balance out

“Rare that it would hit it right on the money but at the 30 per cent tax bracket that would be a combined tax bracket so that results in the 14 per cent increase that they’re talking about.”

That’s an average, with the actual impact varying among the directors depending on their total taxable income.

It will work out to a total of 37 thousand dollars.

Last year, total remuneration of the Board of Directors was 263 thousand dollars.
