RDNO Reminds People They Can ‘Adopt-A-Stream’
The Regional District of North Okanagan says a recent clean up of a Vernon park is a good example of people doing great things for their community.
A small group of neighbours of Hidden Park along 33rd Avenue took some time this past Sunday to take advantage of the Regional District’s Adopt-A-Stream Program to go through the park and the section of BX Creek that runs through it.
“It was really nice for the neighbours to come together because they certainly have concerns about activity that goes on in the park there, so they like to come together and show that people care for that park and they want to look after the stream that runs through it because it is BX Creek.”
Jennifer Miles, the RDNO’s Water Sustainability Coordinator, says they filled one big bag with garbage.
