Okanagan Science Centre offering free admission for Science Literacy Week

Oct 6, 2026 | 1:07 PM

People interested in the sciences are able to access some resources for free.

The Okanagan Science Centre will be opening its doors and offering free admission Tuesday through Sunday to mark Science Literacy Week.

The week, which has the theme Curiosity Unleashed, encourages Canadians to embrace how science is woven into everyday life through technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

Additionally, the facility next to Polson Park has a new exhibit on display in time for Science Literacy Week.

The Climate Action Show is an immersive and interactive experience that explores the science of climate change and tells the stories of people taking action around the world. The exhibit offers people answers to their questions and information designed to turn climate knowledge into action.

“Science literacy starts with curiosity,” Dione Chambers, Executive Director at the Okanagan Science Centre, stated.

“You don’t have to be a scientist to wonder how something works or try something for the first time. During Science Literacy Week, we’re inviting our community to come explore our hands-on exhibits, take in a planetarium show, experience our new climate exhibit, check out our programming and discover what the Centre has to offer.”
