Heart of Gold gala raises more than $1 million for KGH emergency care
A big night for a big cause — the KGH Foundation’s Heart of Gold gala raised more than $1 million for emergency care at Kelowna General Hospital on Saturday.
The fundraiser, held at the former Tolko Mill site in downtown Kelowna, also pushed the foundation’s ‘Closer to Home Than You Think’ campaign past its $40-million goal.
The foundation says the new funding will support improvements to KGH’s emergency department, including increased clinical capacity, better patient flow, enhanced trauma care and safer spaces for patients and staff.
More than 100,000 patients visit the emergency department each year.
