Quilpituk Creek Evacuation Alert Lifted for Wilsons Landing and Westside Road Area

Aug 14, 2026 | 9:15 AM

The evacuation alert issued for properties south of Cinnabar Creek, including Wilsons Landing and surrounding rural areas, has been lifted.

Central Okanagan Emergency Management issued the alert Aug. 6 because of increased fire activity associated with the Quilpituk Creek wildfire.

The alert covered properties along North Westside Road from 1750 to 3523, as well as Bald Range Creek, Bear Creek Road north and west of the existing gravel pit, Canon Creek, Jenny Creek Road, Lake Okanagan Resort, Westside Place and parts of Wilsons Landing.

The alert did not include a parcel east of Bald Range Creek, identified as District Lot 4236, because that property was already under an evacuation order.

Residents in affected areas are advised to continue monitoring official emergency information as wildfire conditions can change quickly.

For the latest information on evacuation orders and alerts, visit COEmergency.ca or call the Central Okanagan Emergency Management information line at 250-469-8490 or 1-877-569-8490.

Residents can also register for emergency notifications through COEmergency.ca and pre-register for support through the province’s Evacuee Registration and Assistance system at ESS.gov.bc.ca.

Emergency officials continue to ask the public to avoid active wildfire areas and call 911 only in an emergency.
