The fire was fully sounded by a guard, however, the BCWS warned a thunderstorm could develop Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing with it the possibility of lightning strikes and strong winds that could spark and spread flames.

Cooler temperatures and relatively higher humidity was expected Thursday and Friday, which could help with suppression efforts, but again it was possible more thunderstorms could develop on those days.

As of Wednesday the BCWS had resources deployed to the Bradley Creek wildfire and the Quilpituk Creek wildfire south of Fintry. Those involved 113 firefighters, seven helicopters, 38 structure protection personnel, 25 pieces of heavy equipment, and an Incident Management Team.

The BCWS reminded boaters to stay far away from the fires so aerial resources can safely collect water. People were also reminded to not fly drones or personal aircraft around the fires as they interfere with operations.

Elsewhere in the Okanagan, the Quipituk Creek wildfire remained at an estimated 1,271 hectares, while the Bald Range wildfire that forced the evacuation of Summerland was 18,450 hectares in size.
