Vipers Announce Hockey Operations Promotions

Vernon, BC:   The Vernon Vipers have announced expanded roles for two members of the club’s hockey operations staff ahead of the 2026-27 BCHL season.

Mike Sommer has been promoted to Associate Coach and Assistant General Manager, while Ryan Hollweg has been promoted to Associate Coach.

Sommer joined the Vipers prior to the 2025-26 season and has quickly become an integral part of the club’s hockey operations department. In addition to his responsibilities behind the bench, he has played a key role in player evaluation, recruitment and the day-to-day management of hockey operations.

Hollweg also joined the Vipers ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and has made an immediate impact on the coaching staff. Drawing on his extensive professional playing career, he has become an important resource in player development while helping establish the culture and standards within the dressing room.
