Vernon work crews to start earlier to avoid heat

Vernon’s infrastructure work will be more focused to the early morning hours during the summer heat.

To support worker safety, crews working on major projects in the city may be clocking in to work earlier than usual as upcoming daytime temperatures are set to climb past the 30°C mark.

The city said crews would be clocking in and starting work as early as 6:30 on days where the mercury could soar that high.

Projects where work could start earlier than usual include construction of the Active Living Centre, as well as the adjacent reconstruction of 43rd Avenue.
