$50,000 available for waste reduction proposals

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) will be awarding grants totalling $50,000 to organizations, businesses, individuals and community groups wishing to launch waste reduction projects.

The RDNO is now accepting applications for the 2022 ReThink Waste Project grants, and people with project proposals of all scopes and scales are welcome to apply.

The program is intended to support multiple projects by funding up to 50 per cent of the total costs of a proposed project.

Proposals will be evaluated on how they align with goals and strategies of the RDNO Solid Waste Management Plan, with some of the key components being the reduction of compostable organic waste and the encouragement of proactive rethinking waste prevention through actions to reduce and reuse.
