Nov 27, 2020 | 3:39 PM

B.C. has set a new daily high for COVID-19 cases with 911, with 71 per cent of those (649) in the Fraser Health region.

Forty-seven (47) of the new cases are in Interior Health.

Eleven more people have died of the virus for a total of 395.

“The vast majority of these are people in their 70s and 80s; our seniors, elders, grandparents, spouses and family members,” said Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, during her Friday update.

Elsewhere, 153 of the new cases are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 27 in Island Health and 35 in Northern Health.

Interior Health is reporting 47 new cases overnight, for a total of 1,538.

399 cases are active and on isolation

Ten people are in hospital. One of the 10 is in ICU.

The total number of deaths in IH remains at three.

Update on Revelstoke cluster:

As of today, Interior Health has confirmed 29 cases in the Revelstoke region.

Cases so far have an average age in the low 30s.

Dr. Henry said 301 people are in hospital due to COVID-19 with 69 in critical or intensive care.

Currently, 10,430 people are actively being monitoring for COVID symptoms and 21,304 have recovered.

“We are in a pandemic storm and now we are feeling a storm surge,” Henry stated.

The province’s top doctor said indoor group fitness activities continue to be on hold.

She said B.C. health teams are looking at evidence around the world to design guidelines which should be ready by next week.

Dr. Henry added she’s disappointed at hearing of recent assaults in stores over mask arguments, and says people who don’t want to wear one should shop online and not put others at risk.
