No RibFest in 2020

May 7, 2020 | 10:51 AM

Vernon RibFest is the latest community event to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Vernon Elks Lodge #45, which organized the first fundraising event last July, says the decision was made for the health and safety of the community and due to current restrictions on public gatherings.

The event was scheduled for July 3-5 at the Vernon Curling Club.

The organizers say they plan to return with an event in 2021.

“Our sympathies at this time are with those affected by COVID-19 including ribbers, vendors, performers, businesses, non-profit organizations, media, sponsors and volunteers as well as those who are providing leadership and essential services during this challenging situation,” said an email from the Elks Lodge.

Further updates will be made available on their website at www.vernonribfest.ca.
