How did RibFest go?

The first ever Vernon RibFest is getting positive reviews from organizers.

The three-day event featuring professional ribbers and music, was held July 5 to 7 at the Rec Centre Complex and put on by the Vernon Elks Lodge.

Spokesperson Elaine Gallacher said they are still working on the financial details, but are generally pleased with the turnout and how it went.

“Overall the event was amazing. We are so pleased with the entire event,” Gallacher said in an email to Vernon Matters.

Gallcher said the Vernon Elks Lodge #45 gives out over $30,000 per year to charities with a special focus on children and youth programs.
