Two men are facing potential charges after Kelowna RCMP say a coordinated operation uncovered a significant cache of illicit drugs, firearms and cash earlier this month.

The RCMP Crime Reduction Unit executed search warrants at multiple residences on April 15, with assistance from the Southeast District Emergency Response Team.

Police say the searches targeted homes on the 200-block of McIntosh Road, the 500-block of Mugford Road, and a residential unit in the 8900-block of Jim Bailey Road.

Investigators seized a loaded handgun, approximately 2.2 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, 7 kilograms of suspected cocaine, 1.1 kilograms of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, about $40,000 in Canadian currency, and roughly 13 kilograms of cutting agents.

In a statement, Sgt. Scott Powrie said the addresses were believed to be linked to the supply of toxic drugs in the community.

“These residences were linked to fueling the supply of toxic drugs which pose a direct threat to the safety, security and wellness of our community,” he said.

Police arrested two adult males in connection with the investigation. One of the men was also taken into custody on outstanding warrants.

RCMP say a report has been submitted to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada for charge approval.

The investigation is ongoing.
