Local group ruled out for 2021 Canadian Ski Championships; community thanked for support of cancelled event
Greater Vernon had to cancel hosting this year’s Canadian Ski Championships due to Covid-19, and has been ruled out as a possible host for next year’s event.
On March 12 it was announced by Nordiq Canada and the local organizer, the Sovereign Lake Nordic Club (SLNC), that the event was cancelled due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus.
The national championships for Canada’s top cross-country skiers were scheduled for March 25 to April 2.
Nordiq Canada expressed gratitude for the significant amount of preparation work invested by the organizing committee (OC)—a volunteer group assembled from SLNC members.
