Advance Turnout Lower Than 2014

Several hundred people cast a ballot on the first advance poll for the City of Vernon.

The voting was held at the Schubert Centre over a 12 hour period Wednesday.

The City says 727 people voted.

That’s about 300 less than the 1,013 who voted on the opening advance poll for the 2014 election.

“The next advance poll will be Wednesday, October 17 at Vernon City Hall Council Chambers from 8 am to 8 pm,” says City communications officer Nick Nilsen.
