Breakfast Brings In The Bucks
The 17th annual United Way Drive Thru Breakfast attracted a crowd.
Executive director Linda Yule says Thursday’s event outside the Vernon Lodge was a kick off to their annual fundraiser.
“It started out a little chilly and a little slow, but by the end of the day we finished up a little over 11-thousand dollars which is pretty much spot on where we were last year as well, so a great result. We had phenomenal volunteers out,” Yule told Beach Radio News.
About 760 breakfast bags were picked up over the course of the morning.
“There was people that always come, and it’s an event people always ask me about: ‘When is it? I don’t want to miss it.’ And there were some new faces w as well,” adds Yule.
The funds go to 20 local agencies that support programs for kids, families, seniors and people with disabilities.
