Update: Service Disruption For Vernon Bus Routes

Oct 4, 2018 | 6:15 AM

People who use the Number 7 and Number 8 buses in Vernon have a major change for today with a route disruption.

A road closure is in effect  at Tronson and Lakeshore roads today from 8:30am to approximately 4:00 pm

All stops on Lakeshore between Kin Beach and Okanagan Landing road are closed.

Also stops from Lakeshore Road to Tronson Road will be closed as well.

Buses will travel routes as follows. Route #7 Turn left off Scott Road and head back towards town on Tronson, left onto Okanagan Landing rd.

The Route # 8 will see a temporary stop will be placed close the corner of Tronson and Tronson, where  the park is.

Buses will turn left off Tronson onto Tronson and head back towards town.

They will then turn left onto Okanagan Landing and continue regular route.

Maps will be posted at downtown exchange.

The City of Vernon says the disruption is due to some unexpected utility work for the Lakeshore Park project.

“There were no planned street closures; however, some utility work was required, which was not discovered until late yesterday afternoon,” says communications officer Nick Nilsen. “The decision was made to close the road to make those repairs. ETA for getting things back to normal is pending. We will continue to assess the situation and will issue a road update if repairs are not completed today.”
