Ryder Cup Back in Europe: Emotionally Draining for Phil

Sep 30, 2018 | 10:20 AM

Tough day for Phil Mickelson and his mates as the Ryder Cup is heading back to Europe.

The host team secured the victory when Phil Mickelson laid one in the water at the par-3 16th hole.

He looked right at Francesco Molinari, conceding his match right on the tee box.  It was his 12th Singles match, breaking his tie with Arnold Palmer for most singles matches by any American and it was his 47th career Ryder Cup match, breaking his tie with Europe’s Nick Faldo.

Americans take the Ryder Cup quite seriously and social media was calling for Phil to hang it up in Ryder Cup competition.

Alex Noren closed out Europe’s dominating win in the Ryder Cup with a brilliant putt.

The Swedish golfer drained a 40-foot birdie at the final hole Sunday to secure a 1-up victory over Bryson DeChambeau.

That made the final score; Europe 17 1/2, United States 10 1/2.on the course at Le Golf National.
