‘Intense Snow’ At Resort

September is going out on a very wet and — at the upper elevations — white note.

Environment Canada is forecasting rain for today, tonight, Monday and Tuesday for the Okanagan and other areas.

Given that it’s not that warm, the rain is falling as snow at around 1800 metres and higher.

Wesla Wong from Silver Star Mountain Resort sent Beach Radio a few pictures from the mountain this morning.

“We’re starting to see some intense snow developing at the summit this afternoon, thanks to cool air moving in from the north, ” said Wong, a meteorologist, who formerly worked for Global TV.
