Coldstream’s mayor is satisfied the provincial government is going to help sort out the District’s concerns with policing.
Mayor Jim Garlick says the matter came up in meetings with government staff at the UBCM convention.
The District is looking at various options from continued cost-sharing to setting up its own detachment, but it needs more information.
“And we need accurate information and the province said that they’re going to support us in getting that. And they’re also going to have a representative sitting in on any further negotiations we have with the city of Vernon,” says Garlick.
