Fuel Good Day Raises Over $10,000

Sep 19, 2018 | 4:49 PM

Local charities will be getting some much needed funds thanks to the Armstrong Co-op’s Fuel Good Day.

Ten cents from every litre of fuel purchased at their Vernon, Armstrong and Salmon Arm gas bars Wednesday is being donated to a local non profit.

Marketing and Sales Manager Jason Keis says they put out the call, and the community answered.

“At the end of the day, Armstrong Regional Cooperative members and customers helped raise: $4,063 for the North Okanagan Hospice Society,  $2,794 for the Armstrong Food Bank, and $3,560 for the Shuswap Hospital Foundation.”

Keis says the Armstrong Regional Co-op is committed to serving the community and giving back, not just on Fuel Good Day, but throughout the year.

“Fuel Good Day is one of many ways we fuel our communities, whether it’s by sharing profits with our members or supporting local organizations that are doing important work right here in our own backyard.” “We wish to thank everyone that supported Fuel Good Day 2018!”

Fuel Good Day was celebrated at more than 380 Co-op Gas Bars throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and northwest Ontario, each supporting a selected local charitable or nonprofit organization or initiative. The combined result from across Western Canada will be released in October.
