Dog Park Feedback

Dog Park Feedback

Sep 19, 2018 | 5:17 PM

Regional District of North Okanagan staff say they got some good input from pet owners and park users at the BX Ranch Dog Park.

Parks manager Keith Pinkoski says they were out at the park Wednesday, talking people as part of the Parks Master Plan for Areas B and C.

The plan will determine priorities for park and trail development and  parkland acquisition over the next 20 years.

Pinkoski says input included the need for more garbage bins, washrooms, signage and weed control in the parks.

“Physically being there and hearing more about what residents need in regards to amenities, park maintenance and recreational activities will help us develop a plan that both has our residents best interests in mind, and provides environmental protection for the areas.”

Pinkoski says RDNO will consider the feedback while developing the Parks Master Plan, and encourages all residents and users to participate in the public consultation process.

Residents can attend the following information sessions, where they will have the opportunity ask questions and provide feedback on Electoral Areas B and C local parks:
BX Fire Hall | Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 4 – 7 p.m.
Mutrie Dog Park | Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 4 – 7 p.m.

Residents can also give input through an online survey available to at www.rdno.ca/parksurvey until October 12, 2018.

The planning process will continue through the end of 2018, with a target timeline for adoption of the final master plan in early 2019.
