City Pot Shop Policy Working

With the countdown now under a month, the City of Vernon says it will be prepared for recreational cannabis to be legalized in Canada.

City spokesperson Nick Nilsen says the city has done what it can at its end.

“There is still a lot of uncertainties — certainly the provincial government is playing catch-up — they have a lot of approvals to do. In the meantime, I’m sure there will be a lot of ad-libbing, but we’ll make it work. And certainly at our end, we feel we have everything in place,” Nilsen tells Beach Radio News.

Nilsen says the 12 cannabis stores that were granted temporary use permits back in June, continue to operate under the rules of the covenants they signed.
