Confusion Over Zoning Changes
Changes to Coldstream’s zoning bylaws drew close to 30 people at a public hearing Monday night, with much of their concern centering on ALR versus non-ALR zoning.
Mayor Jim Garlick says the District wants to change RU-2 zoning which covered more-or-less all of the land that wasn’t smaller sub-division lots.
Some were in the ALR, some were not, some were used for farming while others were residential lots.
“The attempt was to take them and split them to identify them, to identify that they’re not in the ALR, and they are in the ALR, and their uses,” says Garlick. The bylaw changes would have removed some of the uses.
