Another candidate is in the running for Vernon council.

Jamie Morrow, a faculty member in the School of Business at Okanagan College, is tossing his hat into the ring.

Morrow says he believes his more than 25 years of business management and leadership experience through his career with a number of businesses including previously owning and operating two businesses in BC gives him the skills and background needed for the job.

He has also served as President of the Okanagan College Alumni Association and has previous council experience having served on council in the Kootenays.

He says he wants to help create a dynamic, vibrant and resilient economy in Vernon with ample employment opportunities for all and a community where real collaboration exists between various stakeholder groups.

Morrow sees Economic Development, supporting and facilitating employment opportunities, and a safe, secure and affordable community as his goals.

His vision includes a city with adequate and easily accessible recreation facilities to meet the diverse needs of its citizens and one where culture and arts are actively promoted and appreciated.

He ran for Mayor in 2014, finishing 5th with just over 4.6 per cent of the vote.

Morrow has lived in Vernon for more than 40 years and is married with two sons
