Fires Better…Distant Smoke May Linger

With the help of recent shower activity, BC Wildfire crews have been making good progress in battling wildfires however it appears, smoke from the blazes continues to remain a problem.

Environment Canada has issued a special air quality advisory for the Shuswap Lake area near Kamloops, advising that changes in wind patterns could bring more smoke to the region.

Officials say smoky air now stretches from the southeast corner to the mid-northwestern area of the province — and people with breathing difficulties should remain indoors wherever possible.
