Pure Water Should Cut Armstrong Odour Concerns

Armstrong is seeking funding for a new wastewater treatment facility that the mayor says will produce water so clean, you could almost drink it.
“It would treat water to almost, I hate saying the words ‘drinking water standard’, but it would be very pure water coming out of the system,” according to Mayor Chris Pieper. “When people say you can drink wastewater, they don’t believe you but it would be almost to that standard so you could drink it if you wanted.”
He says the facility would also reduce annual spring odour concerns tied to their settling ponds downtown.
The city is applying for 10 million dollars in senior government grants.
