One Dead in Hwy 1 Crash Near Chase

UPDATE: Drive BC reports Highway One has reopened to single-lane vehicle traffic following an early morning crash five kilometres west of Chase.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Police have confirmed at least one person was killed this morning in a two-vehicle crash just west of Chase on the Trans-Canada Highway.

The crash closed the highway in both directions. There is no word yet on when it will reopen.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.

Police are expected to release more details shortly.
