Wetter, Warmer Than Normal

If it feels like you’ve been shoveling more snow than normal…you would be right.
Environment Canada meteorologist Cindy Yu says January had more precipitation than normal.
“Our average temperature for Vernon in January was around minus 2.3. The normal should be around minusĀ 3.9, so it was about 1.6 degrees warmer than normal, so overall, January was wetter and warmer than normal,” says Yu.
Vernon received 80.9 mm of precipitation in January, compared to the average of 37.4, about 216% wetter than normal.
