Oct 2, 2017 | 9:49 AM

A Maple Ridge man is identified as one of the people killed in last night’s mass shooting in Las Vegas.

Twenty-three year old Jordan Mclldoon was attending the Route 51 Harvest Music Festival with his girlfriend.

The death toll has now risen to 58.

Police says another 515 were injured.

Some 40 thousand people were attending the outdoor concert on the Las Vegas Strip across the street from the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino when the shooting began.

The gunman was firing from his 32nd  floor room in the hotel.

When police finally got there, the man was dead, surrounded by as many as 10 firearms.

The man has been identified as 64 year old Stephen Paddock.

Police say they don’t know the motive.

His home in Mesquite, about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, has been searched.

Some weapons were found but no other information has been released.

The Islamic State issued a statement claiming Paddock was a soldier of theirs, having converted to Islam months ago.

However, the FBI is saying they have found no evidence of that.

U-s President Donald Trump said in a White House address this morning it was ” an act of pure evil.”

He offered prayers to the families of the victims and promised the wounded his administration’s support.

Trump ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at all government buildings and said he would fly to Las Vegas on Wednesday to meet with law enforcement and families of the victims.
