Suspected Terrorist Attack in Edmonton

Police say the man behind a suspected overnight terror attack in Edmonton was known to police.
As reported in the Edmonton Journal, it was outside the Eskimos game around 8:15 when the attack began. The suspect allegedly drove a Chevy Malibu through a traffic barricade and rammed a police officer.
The suspect, then got out of his vehicle and attacked the officer with a knife. The officer was stabbed multiple times before the suspect fled on foot northbound on 92 Street.A few hours later, the suspect was stopped while driving a U-Haul truck, but took off at high speed when identified and the chase was on. The U-Haul then start targeting pedestrians injuring four people, before rolling onto its side.
Witnesses said it was chaotic, seeing people flying everywhere.
A 30-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and is in police custody. Edmonton Police Chief Rod Knecht also confirmed that an ISIS flag was discovered in the vehicle the suspect was initially driving when he rammed then stabbed the police officer…and that the flag is part of the investigation.
