Positive Feedback On Transit Changes
BC Transit says it’s had some good comments from the public so far about proposed route changes in Vernon.
Spokesman Jonathon Dyck says several people visited the consultation stations set up last week.
“The members of the public who attended were generally supportive of the proposed changes. Particularly the increased service to Walmart and more efficient routing throughout the town. Many people expressed interest in increased frequency in evening service.”
He says that’s something that will continue to be looked at and is also good feedback for the future.
Dyck adds there was also interest in increased connectivity with Village Green Mall.
The changes would see some routes changed and a total of 7 thousand hours of service added.
“We take that feedback seriously and make adjustments as appropriate. The survey closes on October 6th and then we’ll analyze the information, make changes to the plan for the March 2018 implementation.
Public input is still being accepted online as well at www.bctransit.com/Vernon/survey.
