Provincial Government Budget Consultations Begin

Sep 21, 2017 | 6:29 AM

The provincial government’s Budget 2018 Consultation kicks off today.

The government wants to hear from British Columbians on what they think budget priorities should be.

The information collected goes to the all-party Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services to help form the committee’s recommendations.

You can participate through a public hearing, making a written, audio or video submission, or completing an online survey.

Registration for the public hearings open at 9 o`clock this morning.

This year participants will have the option to register online via the committee’s website: www.leg.bc.ca/cmt/finance

The closest paces to Vernon where the hearings will be held are Kamloops on October 12th and Kelowna October 13th.

“Many aspects of our everyday lives relate to how the provincial budget is allocated”, added deputy chair Dan Ashton. “Public input is vital to our work as a committee, and we look forward to hearing from British Columbians however they wish to participate.”
