Sep 17, 2017 | 6:52 AM

It’s time for the Annual Terry Fox Run today and this year the Indigenous heritage of Terry Fox is being recognized

Terry Fox’s grandmother Marian Gladue’s Metis family history is well connected to this ethnic group.
The Metis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) is honouring that heritage.

Today’s run takes place at Marshall Fields with registration at 9 a.m. with the run/walk/bike taking place at 10 a.m.

As in past years, anyone can take part, there is no minimum donation and no registration fee. It is for all ages and abilities.

New to the run this year is the two-kilometre course which will be in addition to the traditional five and 10-k courses.

The run is held in 25 countries and is hailed as the largest one-day event fundraiser in the world.

This is the 37th. Annual Run and since it began, the run has raised more than $715 million.
